Hi Leaders I considering asking Carolina Soaring Association (CSA)to develop a Flight School simular to the one described in the June 2009 issue of Boy Life. But before I formally ask I would like to see if there is an interest. My husband and father in law are both glider pilots who are members of CSA. So I have the connections needed to make this happen if there is an interest. As of yet, I do not know the cost. See attached CSA website: http://www.carolinasoaring.org/ Please send an email if there is an Troop interested. Nancy Wasness CS RT Commissioner Pinckney District nwasness@bellsouth.net |

Hi Leaders I had a meeting with the Carolina Soaring Society today. They are really excited about helping with the aviation merit badge program. They will get things organized and I will do the BSA paperwork and collect the fees for the program. They will get with me on dates and cost later in the month. I will give more updates later. The Aviation Merit Badge Program will start in September 2009. I am going to make a flyer & other BSA required paperwork and have it ready for the August Program Opening. I will take the first 5 that will be close to aging out of Boy Scouts. The club only has one 2 seat glider so that is the reason why they are sticking with 5 boys. I will be present during the Aviation Merit Badge Program. Any questions please contact me. Nancy Wasness (864) 814-3831 nwasness@bellsouth.net |
